New Books

Nothing big is jumping out at me tonight so I'll just mention a couple of books and a CD that arrived today. The books will give me reading material on my holidays in a couple of weeks. One book I am looking forward to is Tod Bolsinger's It Takes a Church. I have come to appreciate his blog writings and I anticipate some thought provoking challenges in his book. Remember him in prayer this next little while as he travels to Malawi on a mission trip.

The second book that arrived today is Contemplative Prayer by Thomas Merton. I have not read any of Merton's writings but have seen him referred to enough that I thought I'd give him a look.

I look forward to both of these books to continue to help me break out of a personal stagnation brought on by some individulism and a struggle with prayer.

The CD is Sara Groves' All Right Here that was recommended by Steve Norris. The song Remember Surrender is what sparked the recommendation. I look forward to listening to it.
